Best Things to Do in Hallandale Beach, Florida

Hallandale Beach is famously, referred as the middle child of Florida beaches. It is true in not being given it’s deserving due. It is on the way between Hollywood beach and Miami beach. These two glamorous beaches overshadow the pristine beauty of Hallandale and receives less notice.

It takes hardly half an hour by road between Hallandale and Pompano Beach another one of the not-so-well-known pristine beaches along the coast. Hallandale is blessed with unique beach vegetation and contour. Here, beaches are lazy. Even people, who are not dressed for the beach, come here and relax with their books or music. There are many attractions that will keep you excitedly occupied during your stay.

Gulfstream park

This is the most sought-after attraction for its horse racing tracks and casino. During the months from December to October, these racing tracks are in a frenzy. If you are quite lucky, you can be part of concerts, that is being staged here. Book your tickets in advance, though.

Also, there is Pegasus Park. Here, you see a statue of Pegasus killing the dragon. The statue of Pegasus is the second largest statue in the country after Statue of Liberty.

Big Easy Casino

This was formerly the famous, Mardi Gras Casino. Here, you find around 900 slot machines, roulette, black jack, virtual table games and poker tournament. You will be thoroughly pampered by its enjoyable night entertainment. This casino is famous for its greyhound racing.

You can have mouth-watering dining experience too. Grab basic sandwiches, salads and soups from Mezz Grill or Cafe Orleans. Also, you can have a fine dining experience from Louie’s Lounge and the French Quarter.

 Joseph Scavo Park

This is a dog lover’s paradise. You have not one, but two dog walks. You can indulge in your “puppy love” here. There will be a variety of cute, fluffy and stately dogs parading these walks. Also, it is a good place to take your kids. They can frolic here, to their heart’s content.

You can enjoy a stroll along the well-maintained greenery. If you are an exercise freak, this is the best place to be. You have a comfortable exercise corner. If you are up to it, chat up a little with the friendly local joggers and walkers, alongside you.

 Everglades Holiday Park

 This is a wildlife preservation area with a theme park attached. It is aptly nicknamed “Gateway to the Everglades”. You will be treated to an airboat ride with a fully comprehensible narrative. Other attractions are alligator shows, camp ground, fishing and watching the wildlife.

The famed Gator Boys, gives you an overview of the about alligator rescue and rehabilitation. Also, if you are lucky, you can be part of the yearly Bass fishing tournament. There is a special duck hunting season, too.


 Besides being a calm and picturesque beach, there are many utilities to ease your vacation. You have the mammoth, fuss-free basement parking near the beach, bike rentals and options other than basking under the sun. It is truly, an overlooked paradise.
